Driving in Australia is not just a translation of what you already know. Keeping left, giving way at roundabouts, the rules on unmarked intersections, school zones, and the way country roads work around Dubbo all catch out confident drivers from overseas.

Our instructors are used to teaching students and new arrivals from a wide range of backgrounds. Lessons move at whatever pace suits you, and nothing is assumed. If a rule does not make sense, we stop and explain it properly rather than moving on.

What we focus on

Keeping left and lane discipline, until it stops needing conscious thought.
Give-way rules at roundabouts, unmarked intersections and T-junctions.
Speed zones and school zones, including the times they apply.
The NSW test format, so nothing on the day is a surprise.
Country road conditions around Dubbo, including wildlife and overtaking.

Converting an overseas licence

What you need to do depends on where your licence was issued and how long you have been in Australia. In general:

Some overseas licences can be converted with a knowledge test and an eyesight test.
Others require a practical driving test as well.
Temporary visitors can often drive on a valid overseas licence for a limited period.
Service NSW is the authority on your specific situation — check with them before booking a test.

We are not the licensing authority. Service NSW decides what your licence conversion requires. What we can do is get you genuinely ready for the practical test, and supply the car for it.
